A booking CRM that speaks Tamil dates

The problem

SSS Catering takes most of its bookings over the phone, for weddings and functions fixed by the Tamil calendar. Details were written in notebooks: the Tamil date, the hall, the headcount, the advance paid. Checking whether a date was free meant flipping pages, and payment follow-ups depended on memory.

What we built

A CRM shaped around how the owner already works.

• Type the booking the way you heard it. A line like "Purattasi 11 marriage Ravi, Sri Lakshmi Mahal Erode, 750 people, 2.5L, adv 50k" fills the whole booking form.
• Tamil date first. Pick the Tamil month and day; the English date shows underneath. Booked days are marked, and a same-day clash shows a warning.
• Remembers halls. Choose a hall used before and the town, address and map link fill in.
• Money in plain words. Type 2.5L, 50k or 1,20,000. Rate times headcount fills the total and the balance is worked out.
• One tap actions. Call, WhatsApp confirmation, payment reminder, directions and calendar entries from any booking.
• Needs attention. No advance yet, still tentative, balance due this week, event tomorrow. Listed every morning.

How it is built

Next.js on Vercel with a Supabase database, email and password sign-in limited to approved staff, and automated tests for the Tamil calendar, the booking parser and the full booking flow on phone and laptop browsers.
